Although it starts off a bit slow, this film captures the awkwardness of adolescence in the same vein as Welcome to the Dollhouse and Rushmore. The quirky and interesting characters are astonishingly well-acted, most notably Reece Daniel Thompson in the lead role of Hal Hefner.
