Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Júlio A — 26 Aug 2008
Another one of those quirky indie comedies about precocious teenagers, but this one actually kinda works. Strong characters and an leisurely offbeat tone rise this above the usual pretensions of the genre, and the plot - which could have easily gone into cliche territory - takes some unexpected turns.
It's slow-paced at times, a bit too long, and the ending is less than satisfying - but it's an engaging story about strange and interesting people that hits the right emotional notes.
