Yes, it's a musical and yes, It seems hokey at first. But if you are of a certain age, something about it works. It's the music you heard on the radio. It was the LA scene back then. If you let go of your embarrassment, it's a lot of fun.
Tom Cruise does a great job as a specie rockstar. The rest of the cast is very good also.
