Review of Rocco and His Brothers (1960) by Private U — 16 Dec 2008
This film I've seen a couple of times and each time I find something new. Apart from the fact that it has the gorgeous Claudia Cardinale and the handsome Alain Delon - it really touches on the dynamics of a family affected by the shifting dynamics of Industrial industry in modern Italy; I bet If Coppola/ Scorsese had said they hadn't watched this film before they made The Godfather/ Goodfellas - I'd say they were both lying; but be warned its not a gangster flick, its what it touches on about family that's really important.
This is a must see.
