It was never going to top Paul Verhoeven's violent masterpiece, but this sequel did feature a stunning Frank Miller plot that expanded upon the Robocop world, rather than staying in the comfort zone.
The pedestrian direction from Irvin Kershner (The Empire Strikes Back) is a serious crutch, though.
