Review of RoboCop (1987) by Kenneth B — 16 Feb 2012
There is more to Robocop than meets the eye. It is brutally violent, especially during Murphy's killing but unlike many of the films of its kind (of which it is perhaps only topped by The Terminator) it does have genuine depth.
From its comments on corporate greed to the satirical commercial segments it makes for an exciting and sometimes amusing experience. Of course any lighter moments are short lived as the film begins to explore the character of Murphy underneath the machine it becomes quite affecting.
