Review of RoboCop (1987) by Spencer G — 21 Apr 2012
A brilliant and unique tale which is definitely very violent and gory. This film is not for the faint of heart due to it's no-holds barred attitude and it's ultra violence. This film still ranks up in the leagues of The Terminator as a completely original story of a cyborg.
In this though instead of a manufactured killing machine, he is a cop who was shot more times than I can count and he then gets altered into a Robocop. Paul Verhoeven brings a unique and sci-fi aspect to some of his films and he really gives the audience dark laughs, frequent violence, a tale of mechanical revenge & corporate rivalries.
Overall it is a cult classic but only if you like the action sci-fi genre, it is brutal and entertaining yet still managing to maintain it's very well structured storyline.
