Another 80's hit in my generation that I'll never get bored of. A movie that certainly spilled out the merchandise and got played to death on the arcades, Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore Amiga 500.

The theatrical release was "bad" enough as in great for it's violence, wounds, blood and gorey bits but once I got my hands on the uncut version I was really excited. The boardroom scene and the ED-209 demonstration being the best for over the top blood squibs being used and luckily for me I thrive on the realism.

Murphy's gruesome and untimely demise also got extended out. Aside the physical effects from Mr. Verhoeven's direction a great story and a great design of Robocop, acted brilliantly by Weller.

Robocop's weaponary and targeting system was such a visual thing to watch and quite original in it's days. A pounding and fitting soundtrack really makes Robocop look the hero but even so isn't entirely indestructable and is put through the test as the movie progresses.

Kurtwood Smith plays an iconic villian and has a rememberable voice and present. Although some effects appear dated and old school they don't look out of place. The simple Police armour and gear seem a little futuristic as well as the plot itself, adding to that, made up TV adverts, newscasts and games feature in and out of the scenes almost like intermissions in the action.

No CGI effects, impressive physical locations, the abandoned steel mill being one of them. A great movie which will live on for some.
