Review of RoboCop (1987) by Josh K — 12 Feb 2014
Paul Verhoeven delivers a slam and bang science fiction that wonderfully takes you along for the ride over and over again. Peter Weller depicts a cop who is killed in the line of duty and is used by a company to meld man and machine.
Known as RoboCop, he serves Detroit City trying rid it of crime, while also finding those responsible for killing him. Weller is perfect as RoboCop, bringing real acting and humor to the role, while also slowly delving into the part of RoboCop at a good pace.
Ronny Cox is terrific as the villainous CEO and Kurtwood Smith is terrific as the secondary villain, while he also makes you forget about his family friendly performance in the TV Show That 70's Show.
The film is graphic and violent, but is well handled and stands as a great science fiction film.
