Review of RoboCop (1987) by Luis Diego C — 16 Aug 2014
Great "Cult Classics" screening last night @ Pollack Cinemas .. probally one of the most realistic depictions of a "future" society in film, because of the curiousity that a near-future Detroit is neither "dystopian" nor "utopian" .
. It simply "is what it is" .. A great satire of contemporary problems in American Society: Violence, Politics, Corruption, Greed, etc. .. What can be the solution to all of this ?!: A 24 hour Cyborg Cop who's sort of "reborn" following the brutal death of a Police officer .
. His indestructible abilities has him in a one man war against crime leaves him the "savior" of Detroit, with some very striking parallels to the life of Jesus story in Christianity (death and resurrection).
