Review of Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) by Samuel P — 04 Jul 2007
Really, really low budget -- but, director Byron Haskin makes due with all of his resources, including recycled space ship imagery from the original War of the Worlds film and a monkey named Mona.
Adam West was in this movie, but just barely. Early on, he's the captain of a space craft, but dies soon afterword, much to the chagrin of all viewers. But, fear not, he appears later as a mute hallucination for less than a minute's time!
Good, but not that good -- a low budget tale of survival against all odds, with a monkey. Not horrible enough to be a classic, but worth watching. It's like an average Twlight Zone episode, only longer.
