Review of Robinson Crusoe (2016) by Tate J — 01 Aug 2016
I took my daughter to see Robinson Crusoe after the screening of my first choice, The Jungle Book, was cancelled. From an adult's perspective, the film was unentertaining and tiring experience. Why? It's hard to be definitive, but relatively unengaging characters (starting with the hero), lack of a strong and consistent goal for the hero, lack of worthy villains for most of the film (ship cats?), a weak ending that left left major issues (e.
G. the chief goal of the hero) unresolved, and a woeful lack of laughs (for adults or children). The least entertaining kids film I've seen in a long time.
