Review of Robin Hood (2018) by Jen S — 23 Nov 2018
Robin Hood does it's job as being entertaining. As a fan of the original Robin Hood tales and lore, the part I found interesting is how the movie starts with Friar Tuck telling the story. This enables the creative team to take liberties with the setting as well as costumes, making them something relatable to us from the Crusades to the extravagant party put on for the Cardinal.
The movie also played as a social critique to society today, which is essentially what the Robin Hood legend is meant to be. The archery was excellent which tends to get ignored in movies with archery.
The chemistry between the different actors was fantastic, especially with Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton. While some of the script had its issues, I'm still giving it 5 stars due to how well the actors handled it as well as the visual appeal of the film.
