Review of Robin Hood (2009) by Elena D — 16 Apr 2010
The story tells of Robin of Locksley. An english nobleman returning from the crusades, only to find his father dead, and his lands stolen by the evil sheriff of Nottingham. Now he must join forces with the outlaws in Sherwood forest, to avenge his father, and stop the sheriffs quest for ultimate power.
Kevin Costner(Robin Hood) is only average here, with his terrible english accent. Morgan Freeman(Azeem) on the other hand is convincing. The best bit though is Alan Rickman as the sheriff of Nottingham.A role I believe he was born to play. He's so delightfully evil, you just have to love him.
There's also enough action here to satisfy the kid in you,and a romance between Robin and maid Marian(Mary Elisabeth Mastrantonio)to satisfy those who crave som romantic elements.
The movie was thoroughly enjoyable, and made Alan Rickman one of my top ten favorite actors of all time.
