Robin Hood takes a trip with some buddies in a crusade. He returns home. He is now old, and surprise! he is illiterate and not very glamorous. Richard is demented. Marian is now a nun. The Sheriff played by Shaw is alive and well.
Rather depressing. But must watch! Remember the bad bad assassin also played by Shaw that Sir Sean had to deal with in the second Bond flick? Lets just say that there is a little fight in the end. Watch at once.
