Review of Robin and Marian (1976) by Stephen C — 14 Jan 2010
A real treat from the vastly underated Richard Lester.
After coming home from the crusades Robin Hood and Little John find that somethings have changed but somethings have stayed the same.
One of the biggest changes is that Marian (A wonderful Audrey Hepburn) has become a nun and at first is slightly less that pleased to see Robin Again.
The secret to this films enjoyment is the chemistry across the whole cast .
Connery and Hepburn are excellent and Robert Shaw and Nicol Williamson are good value as the Sherriff of Nottingham and Little John.
Addb to that a Neat Cameo from Richard Harris as King Richard and of course Lesters eye for comedy and you have a film which always remains interesting ,a real lost gem.
