Review of Road to Perdition (2002) by Zach C — 28 Oct 2010
Exceptional prohibition drama. Hanks plays the loyal hitman to Irish mob boss and father figure Newman. When Newmans loose cannon son played by Daniel Craig (why is it crime bosses always have a psycho kid?) murders Hanks family, what kicks off is a "payback" style revenge flick. Hanks and Newman are of course exceptional and Craig is just one of a strong supporting cast also bolstered by Jude Law who plays the creepy photographer of dead people who is hired to hunt Sullivan (Hanks) and his son down.
I really enjoyed this film, even though the ending was highly predictable.
