Review of Road to Perdition (2002) by Austin A — 27 Jun 2011
Sadly, this turns out to be merely slightly above-average, when they had a nearly-flawless source to work from: the original graphic novel. Having read the novel first, I was able to recognize all the minor and the couple of major flaws that dragged this movie down.
My biggest problem was with the first 40 minutes--namely, that they could have been done in 20, and done more effectively that way. I suppose it's worth seeing, but you should make it a point to read the graphic novel, which is one of the top 5 I've ever read.
