Review of Road to Perdition (2002) by Lachlan D — 06 Nov 2013
The source material alone is tremendous and as such it was highly probable that this would be a great film. But from a technical aspect, Road to Perdition is equally tremendous with fantastic production design (probably due to the momentum of producer Stephen Spielberg) and marvelous direction from Sam Mendes.
Also worth a shout out is Paul Newman who gives one of his greatest performances. Even if this film gets a little sappy towards the end, it is still perfectly crafted and successful in creating an emotive experience.
