Review of Road to Perdition (2002) by Andrew G — 10 Dec 2010
It's good... really good, just with some flaws that held it back. The Cinematography was superb, but the performances were all the more outstanding. Tom Hanks as per usual is really good, and both Jude Law and Daniel Craig did well.
Paul Newman though was the standout. I'm a big Newman fan, and to see him deliver a performance that had such depth, but little screentime, reminded me of why he is one of my favourite actors. One thing I didn't like in the film was the pace.
The film has a fantastic story, but the hour and 52 minutes felt like a good 2 and a half hours, which really left me bored at times. I kept wanting the plot to advance, but it would remain slow.
