Another Tom Hanks blockbuster in an era when he was one of the top actors in Hollywood. This is also Paul Newman's last cinematic acting role. This is a very good film, but not a great one.

The plot plays out very carefully and is well written, with just the right amount of details. Some obvious holes will have the audience asking "why did he do that?" For example, when Sullivan critically wounds the assassin, why doesn't he simply finish the job?

The feeling of the film is dark (and wet). This is not a "happy" film and thus makes it standout from the typical Hollywood ending you would expect. Both Hanks and Newman are fantastic in their roles. A must-see for ganster movie aficionados.
