Review of Road Hard (2015) by Randy A — 15 Mar 2015
I listen to acs every day and will still be a big fan of the show.
I felt the pacing was off. Adam's timing on the show is almost always spot on. It feels like his acs jokes are shoved in to get laughs, but they miss for me, which is weird because they rarely miss on the show. Some of them would fit better with better editing.
When Adam walks by the hotel janitor who knew him from the bro show, I knew the joke that was coming (it's been on the show many times), but it comes so quickly that I didn't get a chance to laugh.
I felt the acting by much of the cast was stilted. I'm not sure if that's casting, directing or the actors themselves.
There were some highlights. Diane Farr was great. The scene where she leaves Bruce at the hotel was poignant. The scene with his ex wife in the garage was well done. The scene with Howie worked well to lead to finish.
Overall, it felt like a rough draft. Good at parts, but it needed some editing.
