Review of Rise of the Zombies (2012) by Allan C — 06 Feb 2013

Like the other recent SyFy original film "Zombie Apocalypse", this zombie film is a mixed bag. On the positive side it's heavy on zombies, has a few good ideas and scenarios sprinkled throughout, and has a decent cast of mostly the used-to-be-famous but who also includes a zombie Danny Trejo.

. On the down side it's pretty cheaply made with some very low-grade CGI, story-wise there's nothing new and the film seemed unable to decide if it was serious or camp (at least I hope some parts of the film were intended as camp).

But despite the negatives, it's not a bad zombie flick and is actually better than a lot of the other zombie dreck being peddled out there (i.e. "Resident Evil").
