There is nothing terribly good or bad about Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Nothing is really gained from it, but it isn't a total flop like most prequels are. The whole movie is just pretty... safe. Nothing new to see here.
James Franco doesn't really shine here, though Andy Serkis impresses, like usual There are a lot of goofs and plotline holes throughout the movie, but it really just does its job as an escapist Hollywood blockbuster.
