Review of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) by Isadore H — 01 Jul 2017
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a great origin story film that features strong motion capture work and stronger performances, namely Andy Serkis. The direction is great, and there is hardly anything in this film that feels out of place.
James Franco is excellent, he really brought a likable presence to the film that nobody besides Serkis did. The obstacle this film fails to hurdle is that the humans are not nearly as engaging as the apes are.
I also felt this film too a little bit to get rolling, but once it gets moving, it doesn't stop for nobody. Would definitely recommend to watch for anyone looking for a film with a breath of fresh air.
