Review of Rise of the Guardians (2012) by Sam D — 10 May 2013
Rise of the Guardians will entertain the kids and satisfy the adults, with it's immensely pleasing festive tone. It features a good script, a heartfelt message and great voice work, from Alec Baldwin (his interpretations of Santa Claus is highly amusing) and Jude Law in particular, they're both extremely well suited to their characters roles.
"Rise" is fast paced, imaginative, action packed and features some of the best visuals I have ever seen. The visuals are crisp and the voice cast seasoned. The power of the extremely likeable and cultural characters help back up the story line, with a real villain, providing a true threat, somewhat of a rarity in more recent animation.
All in all, many will find spending 100 minutes with their childhood idols joyous and the way they frolick around the screen is infectious. "Rise" is equally entertaining for parents and kids and is ultimately a pleasing festive feature.
