Foot soldier is the most interesting and down to earth of the football hooligan genre. it's not mostly just a drama like green street and thankfully there's no elijah wood. it's gotta be a cross between the krays and football factory. it's all about carlton leach rising up through the ranks of a firm and getting into a bit of organised crime while he's at it. not in the easy watching category of subjects but entertaining from start to finish and that's what a film should be... right? if you don't like it... fuck off, you soppy cunt!

26/11/09 - also wanna use this space to review "reckoning day" by the same director as it's not actually listed on this website. reckoning day isn't actually a bad reel if you take away the awful filming and piss poor acting. if julian gilbey had some money behind him i'm sure he'd make more good films. "reckoning day" though is about a half or maybe a one outta five if i'm being generous.
