Review of Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) by Alan C — 31 Oct 2007

Wow, this is a boring movie and an insult to the vampire genre. I only give it two stars because the cast is good, though misused and I enjoyed seeing Marilyn Manson in a small cameo. Never before have vampires seemed so powerless.

Liu gets knocked out every five to ten minutes and gunshots take her out of commission for an entire night. Maybe they were going for realism but realism should be at the bottom of the priorities once one decides to make a film about vampires.

Also - the flashback storytelling stuff only makes for confusion, there was no purpose in telling the story the way they did.
