Review of Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) by Del F — 14 Nov 2007

A real slow burner, and easy to dismiss as buffy-esque, but its great in its entirety - certainly feels like an extended tv movie at times, tho. Lucy Liu plays a tortured soul, a journalist who comes back as a vampire and takes revenge on those who turned her.

Lucy really does a good job (actually, Id sit thru her reading the phone book) with this (having to feed on hitchikers and drunks) and theres a good deal of in-yer-face gore, but only to carry the story forward, its never feels gratuitous or un-necessary.
