This is a massive load of horseshite where ripley suddenly turns into this sadistic killer without any motive played by john malkovich playing the same character john malkovich always plays. Apparently in real life Malko used to be a really tubby kid but he went on a diet of jelly and got all thin.
I find him a very odd character.
