Review of Ripley's Game (2002) by Chris S — 16 May 2008
A morally ambiguous, classy thriller somewhat let down by a predictable turn from Ray "One Note" Winstone, surely the world's most overrated actor. This also features a great example in the art of "less is more", when Ripley graphically demonstrates one of his mantraps on an unlucky stick of French bread, which in turn allows the viewer's mind to fill in the rest when we hear a couple at work later in the movie.
Top stuff.
