A cheeky premise falls victim to horrible CGI and some very dull storytelling. It's a rough watch too because they try incredibly hard to convince you it's funny. Jeff Bridges is the best aspect of the film and had he been given anything remotely entertaining to do or say as THAT character, they may have scored big.
R.I.P.D. is a classic case of "toss in some big names and people will watch"... bad movie making. Their foes are animated terribly and the plot quickly builds to NOTHING... except maybe the most pointless, stale finale in recent memory.
I suggest you skip this one... repeatedly.
