Down in the dumps when it comes to comedy, "R.I.P.D" isn't the worst thing out there, but definitely is far down the road in the several of mediocre films this summer. The premise is average, the character development is barely there, leaving only comedy in the dust.
I quite liked the jokes at times, especially Jeff Bridge's performance, and will most likely leave audiences laughing at some times. Though the film isn't the worst, its a far cry from anything due to its ultimately dim-witted and formulaic story.
