I find the extremely negative (0/5) reviews are being entirely unfair, and seem to mostly be posted by pompous "critics" who think they're the end all be all of opinion. Critics love to hate horror movies, so it's no surprise this is reviewed badly, but as badly as it's been reviewed, is not reasonable.

I have seen much worse acting in much better-reviewed movies. The story is pretty good. The atmosphere is a huge step up from The Ring 2, but still had a ways to go to reach The Ring. The biggest downfall is most likely the director. The directing job was not AWFUL, but it had more than plenty of room for improvement.
