Review of Righteous Kill (2008) by William C — 18 Aug 2009
When I saw the trailer way back when I was wishing that this film was going to be amazing. Pacino and De Niro together again since HEAT in a detective/cop movie. But, when I saw "Jon Avnet" I knew it wasn't going to be.
Then again, when I finally saw this film, he did surprise me. Some of his changes (like the skateboard pimp) are extremely horrible, but his direction is good in this - unlike 88 MINUTES. I know it comes down to the script and that the two main men are having too much fun (Pacino jumps over a rail and shouts "Bye bye?") and the script is poorly written/knock off of MAGNUM FORCE.
In the end, for what it is, I can enjoy it from time to time. I'm a sucker for cop movies.
