Review of Ridicule (1996) by Blind P — 14 Sep 2008
Period piece from pre-revolution France in which wit in the Court is the only thing that gets attention, and attention is the only way to improve the lot of your house and your serfs.
Written ably, and performed well, even the very familiar love angle was driven enough by pragmatism to not annoy me. Of course this all changes by the end, and that reflects in my score. A few days have passed and the fondness of the viewing moment has left a slightly pale reflection.
I'm off to powder my ass...don't stay too long in the well!
