Review of Ridicule (1996) by Armel M — 28 Apr 2008
I almost like the idea of the film better than the film itself, which is sometimes slow with a bittersweet ending. The main character has to act witty at court so he can gain an audience with the king to get money he desperately needs for his village - a cruel joke of beaucracy that actually occured with this type of monarchy.
Some interesting scenes about developing sign language for the deaf as well.
