Review of Ride with the Devil (1999) by Rory V — 06 Jun 2007
A haunting film that takes its time in telling us a wonderful story. These characters are people who grow and change throughout the film. Such a believable job every step of the way in terms of geographical, historical and sociological settings.
The film is fearless in telling its story with an astounding level of realism the entire way. A young cast for the most part with a nice Tom Wilkinson performance thrown in for good measure. Additionally, Jeffrey Wright is one of our finest actors and his work here is mesmerizing.
Jewel acquits her self well in a gutsy casting decision by the filmmakers.
