Review of Riddick (2013) by Dukejon — 03 Dec 2014

Ok. But certainly no more than ok. I quite enjoyed "pitch black", and I enjoyed the second film even more, but this is essentially a less interesting remake of the first film. The mercenaries are dull, uninteresting and about as threatening as teddy bears.

The aliens are quite scary. There's too much about Riddick in this film and not enough other memorable characters to bounce off. A few good scenes here and there but overall I feel this was a wasted opportunity to reboot a franchise that still has a lot of potential.

The video games are far better than this film.
