Review of Rich and Strange (1931) by Sam M — 13 Nov 2017
Not sure why people think this is mostly a silent film, it's, to me, more innovative than the period prior to this film for Hitchcock. Films were highly produced from here on and much less of a stage-play on film, and so I enjoyed it more-so than his earlier films.
The story was humorous and acting was more "modern", I suppose. I feel like this film and after in Hitchcock's history was when things really began to pick up, even in the industry with this "new sound"/talkie fad/phase, ironically making film even better and standard.
