Review of Rhinestone (1984) by Robin P — 05 Dec 2007

I'm giving this a high rating not only because Stallone is my favourite actor but because he had the balls to do it. Sly has even been quoted as saying it was a disappointing experience. But if you've ever listened to him in interviews, he has a wicked sense of humour, is willing to laugh at himself and here it shows.

So many thigh-slappingly funny scenes where Sly tries to adapt to country life and take on the form of a country singer. Crazy but that's what makes it hilarious. Look out for the outrageous country singer at open-mic night, a scream.
