Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Bradley H — 19 Jul 2011
Beautifully acted, especially by Kate Winslet, this film is more than the cliche tearing down of the facade of suburban life. It is a portrait of the tragic consequences of living a second-hand life. Kate Winslet's portrayal of a woman who has chosen to worship a man who is not worthy of such treatment is powerfully captivating.
Michael Shannon's portrayal of the "insane" voice freed from the societal illusions that lead people to give up themselves in order to "play house" was also a highlight of the film.
The score of the film was simple and eloquent.
