Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Sanyrub — 03 Apr 2013
This movie had some critical acclaim the year it was released but there were also many reviews defining it as boring, it did not make the cut for the big nominations that year. I did not watch it till this 2013.
I was afraid it could be be too slow paced or boring... but nothing like that. If it had been like the first minutes it would have been too monotonous, but it keeps developing and it grows and grows, slowly making you feel the characters.
By the last part of the movie it is already in your mind, like those films you feel you´ve watching something so good. After it ends it sticks with you. Too many real situations like many related in the film.
Marriage like I´ve never seen it before in a film and many more things: family, love, envy, depression, desperation, many things. I love when a film has these long scenes with just dialogue and the actors doing amazing jobs.
So good. Kate Winslet and DiCaprio are equally great, I would not put any of them above the other. The supporting cast is so on point too. Totally recommendable.
