Review of Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie (1999) by Amy P — 07 Feb 2008

Although it's something people who are unfamiliar with the series will have a hard time getting into, it's hard to deny the sheer beauty of this movie. The style is so finely-crafted and lush that I didn't mind a second sitting to try and put two and two together.

More conservative folk, however, might want to steer clear. The lesbian overtones might prove a bit overpowering to anyone unprepared for them.
