Review of Revenge (2017) by Brian S — 09 Aug 2018
Director Coralie Fargeat undoubtedly has an eye for the camera. It's a lot like I Spit on Your Grave (2010), but with lusher and better production values, as well as an art house feel to it and even more gore, there's blood spilling from every angle of the camera in this film.
It's not an easy film to watch, in fact, it's got some of the most gut-wrenching, disgusting scenes I've ever seen. The performances are quite good, and it raps a big amount of tension, as well as some suspense, and although the runtime is a little too long for this type of splatter fest, Revenge is one of the best independent flicks of the year.
