Review of Return to Oz (1985) by Rachael H — 03 Jan 2009
Based on the sequel books to The Wizard of Oz, but unrelated to the classic film, this movie is so horrifying that it's funny to imagine this being produced with children in mind. It opens with Dorothy being CARTED OFF TO THE INSANE ASYLUM FOR **ELECTRIC SHOCK THERAPY** and gets more terrifying from there.
Also, has some pretty awesome special effects. Great for an MST3K kind of evening, especially if you invite someone who has been scarred by this film as a child.
