I don't think my opinion really matters here since I never saw this movie as a kid and never even saw The Wizard of Oz... This is clearly a movie with nostalgic value for everyone so it's hard to really enjoy it for the first time as an adult.
That being said, it's a good movie, I can see why it's somewhat of a cult classic. But to me, it's nothing compared to 'Labyrinth' or 'Time Bandits'. Plus, with everything I had heard in the reviews from 'The Nostalgia Critic' or 'Cinemassacre', I was expecting it to be much more crazy.
It's good, not great.
