Review of Return to Oz (1985) by Mloy X — 11 Jun 2012
Jack Pumpkinhead (Henson): If his brain's ran down, how can he talk?
Dorothy (Balk): It happens to people all the time, Jack.
I remember liking this film so much in my childhood, even more than the original Wizard of Oz film. But as with much of childhood memories revisted, sometimes it just doesn't live up to what you remembered. Fortunately, although the special effect are (as expected) a little dated by today's standards, the film was still as enchanting as I remembered it. I love Fairuza Balk, I totally dig her as an actor. She has such a unique talent and an exotic beauty and she was absolutely adorale in this movie. Overall, the film was as entertaining and as heartwarming as I rememered, and that's not just the nostalgia talking.
