Comments:
When I think of boxing I usually think of yet more unnecessary violence being brought into our already violent world. Ressurecting the Champ certainly showcases its share of flying teeth and bloody wounds, but by the end of the movie the violence of boxing was the last thing on my mind. The boxer's desire to win the fight in the ring is overshadowed by the boxer's desire to win in the game of life, and more significantly, to make something of himself. As is so gracefully demonstrated in the film, the burning desire for recognition can become the driver of dishonesty and deceit. Luckily for the characters in this film, love understands.
