Review of Restrepo (2010) by Rylieeee — 29 Jan 2011
"One platoon, one valley, one year".
It's one of the best thing I have seen after a very long time.. and its not a movie at all. It's a raw documentary centered on a platoon of soldiers being deployed in one of the most dangerous valley in Afghanistan, the Korengal valley. It is so real, cold and unflinching. The film succeeds simply in bringing the experience of modern war to everyday people. It gives the viewers a taste of how these soldiers live---and die.
